Leibster Award!

Leibster Award !

I am so incredibly honored to be chosen to receive a Liebster Award!

If you have not heard of it,  Liebster is German for ‘dearest’ or ‘beloved’-- but it can also mean ‘favorite.’ The Liebster award was created to give some attention to blogs with less than 200 followers (that's definitely me!).

The Sisters at Those Crafty Sisters are the kind bloggers who made this possible by nominating me for this award.  You should check out their blog--it's full of tips, projects, gift ideas, tutorials, and much more! There are Father's Day ideas featured right now, and a link to a Bloggy Birthday party!

In accepting the award, you are supposed to follow these rules:
1. Show your thanks to the blogger who gave you the award by linking back to them.
2. Reveal your five picks for the award and let them know.
3. Post the award on your blog.
4. Bask in the love from the most supportive people on the blogshare--other bloggers.
5. Finally and the best rule of all………have fun and spread the love!

So here are my choices to receive the award.  You should definitely check out their blogs!

We'll get past that 200 mark one day, lol!!
And at least in my case, as the followers come pouring in, the blog posts become more regular and inspiring! Now go leave some bloggy love!!!

I'm No Longer Topless!!

That is, I made my first ever quilt top!!

Jenna at Sew.Happy.Geek sponsored a Quilt Along (QAL) on her blog. It is finished, but can be seen here. Check out her blog - you won't be sorry, and there may be some awesome projects coming up!
Everyone who finished their quilt top was entered into a drawing for some quilty goodness. I won this! Thank you Jenna and Fresh Squeezed Fabrics!! Now I have to figure out how to turn this into an actual quilt.
My next project? Bring it on Amy Gibson!!

Red Barn Scrapbook Review & Giveaway

My friend Kim Keber has to be the most creative person I know. I met her through scrapbooking years ago, and she continues to inspire me today! Check out her blog to be inspired yourself. Then go to Trendy Treehouse for a chance to win one of Kim's camera straps.
Good luck!!

I'm Going to Win!

Thought I'd try a different title since I DIDN'T win the Silhouette contest. However, I'm going to share this layout again to win a Cricut! Follow this link for a chance to win, too! (Since they're giving away more than one I thought I'd be generous and share the chance!) Good luck!!

I WON!

Well, that's what I hope to say in a few days! I created this page

for a sketch challenge at the Silhouette blog. I used my Silhouette SD to cut the number 6 from the font Segoe Script, 6 stars from the Silhouette library, and the yellow tag hanging from the twine is from the library. The paper is all Close to my Heart, and the twine is from We R Memory Keepers. Overall I'm pretty proud of it! Do I have to share that the tag is covering a "K" that my six-year-old wrote? He wanted to write his name on the layout. Do we have a future scrapbooker?

I'm an Outlaw!

Well, at least at The Outlawz! There is a lot to check out there, so after you see the beautiful card I made (look, it is beautiful, isn't it?) go browse.
So I am a member of a challenge group that is for "simple" cards. I hate to use the word simple because I don't want you to think they are blah. But I guess the best way to say it is that the DESIGN is simple so the focus can be on the sentiment. Anyway, this week's challenge was to use at least 4 items on your card while still keeping the design simple. Here is mine:

My 4 items used are all from Close to my Heart: patterned paper, ink, ribbon, and bling! I have to say I'm rather proud of it. What do you think?

BRING IN THE NEW online crop

Come join me this weekend at We Scrap for an online crop! It's awfully snowy outside today, so it's the perfect time to grab some coffee or tea (or both!) and scrap the day away!!! Up for grabs: a $25 gift certificate to Crop Chocolate! In addition, the challenges usually include a RAK from the challenger. I have NEVER left a We Scrap crop without a prize and LOTS of projects completed. Not to mention some laughs and new friends! So come on over and scrap the day away! You won't be sorry!!!

A New Year

Welcome to 2012!
I always think that on January 1, my life will magically change because the day before I made a list. The list is pretty much the same every year: get organized, stick to a budget, get my prayer life in order, do more with the kids..... December 31 comes along, and I realize I didn't stick to the list, and my year ended the same way it began, which is how the year before ended! So I'm going to try something new this year: I'm going to focus on my blessings. That's it! I'm going to declutter my life and my mind, and keep only those people and things that bless me. With less to clutter up my life, I will have more time to focus on those blessings, which will make me a happier person. And I think that as a happier person, the things I usually put on my list will come naturally. And my life will change! I know it's not going to happen over night, but I'm hoping that, come 2013, my list of blessings will be more than I ever expected!
I hope yours will be too. What are YOU blessed with today?
